Promote Your Facebook Posts

As with any successful platform, Facebook makes it very easy to take your money. You need only to set up your billing information once in your profile, and then almost any status update you post has the option of getting promoted.
When boosting a post, Facebook gives you an option for how much money you would like to pay coupled with an estimated amount of people you will reach with that budget. These boosted posts start at $5 dollars and will run automatically until the budget runs out.
Beware of pictures that use too much text, as Facebook may cancel your promoted post. Instead, focus on a picture with text in the status update area. Also, make sure to include a call to action or information that is pertinent to the goal you’re attempting to accomplish.
You can also run ads or sponsored stories by click on your ads manager, found on the left hand side of your Facebook profile’s home page.
Facebook has an easy way of setting up these ads and you can run them by a Cost Per Click method or you can pay by impressions. You can also narrow your target audience down to a very niche market segment, targeting only those people who will find your ad relevant. It’s a good idea to include a call to action in your ad copy as well.
Ads can be set up as sidebar ads, full timeline ads, or sponsored stories. Sponsored stories will target friends of people who already like your page and will act almost like an endorsement from that person. Choose the ad option that is right for you and make sure to track and monitor results. Tweak ads and ad options as you see fit.
Don’t get stuck in a rut on social media. If you find that promoting your posts ends up getting you more likes and reaches more people, do it!
