Infographics Make Things Pop

Imagine this. You're sitting at your desk, near the end of the day, going over reports that are due for a meeting tomorrow when you start to lose track of your place because the stale white pages are slowly driving you insane. You keep drumming through the pedantic report until you happen upon a beautiful, colorful infographic displayed with eye-catching symmetry and an effortless flow to the data presented. Suddenly you are smiling, awake, and you realize that your next door neighbor isn't such a bad guy despite waking you up at 3am. You can see hope, a light at the end of the tunnel that is your work day finally coming to an end.

Ok, so maybe your happiness about an infographic won't be that profound. But one thing an infographic will do for sure is represent your important data in the right light.

The Process

Think of your data as an awkward teen getting ready for his first prom. He needs a tuxedo, and to match his boutineer to his date's corsage. But there is still one more problem, his date is FAR more attractive than him. A good infographic is like giving this helpless teen prom first-timer a limo, top hat, and some doves to fly out and celebrate his entrance to the dance because that's how he rolls.

The Glory

An infographic takes important information and displays it in a way that inspires thoughts such as "ooh shiny," and "such color!" In fact, infographics should probably come with a warning that says "warning, this infographic will shock and inspire you."

What an infographic will do is present your hard earned data as something special, and reduce the monotony of data that is endlessly shoveled in your face like grade school cafeteria food.

The Visual Data Joy

Utilizing a well thought out infographic in a meeting, presentation, or even a dissertation to your friends about the benefits of recycling, will show that you not only have data but care enough to give it a proper platform to shine.

Remember, when preparing your reports, don't forget the limo, top hat, and especially the doves.
